LED lighting toothbrush has been developed.

It is a toothbrush developed with an innovative idea. It could work to prevent periodontal diseases through the synergistic interaction between light and brushing. As LED light has been installed in the center of brush head, it can light up your mouth and your brush teeth while checking the inside of the mouth. This LED toothbrush has been completed based on the study which has found that LED has inhibitory effect on periodontopathogenic bacteria. Now we are also studying how to use light irradiation to whiten teeth and prevent bad breath.

It is a coined term from the combination of "Beautiful teeth" and "clean teeth" in Italian.

It is a light irradiation toothbrush without vibration,　totally different from electric toothbrushes.

The LED light used in Beldente has been confirmed that it inhibits the growth of periodontal pathogen P. gingivalis through our basic experiment.

Dr.H.Katsuragi at The Nippon Dental University presented the results of a study on bactericidal effect at IADR General Session in Barcelona Spain in July 2010. The study suggests that LED light (installed in Beldente) has inhibitory effect on periodontopathogenic bacteria.

It is not harmful. Because the visible light used in the toothbrush is in the safe wavelength area. But do not look straight at the light as well as general lightings.

It uses one AA battery. The battery life lasts about 6 months when used 3 minutes x 3 times /day. (Tested)

The LED light can not be exchanged. But the LED life is about 50,000 hours long, it can be used for about ten years or more of regular use.

It is available at some online retailers and major mass retailers in Japan (each store of Tokyu Hands, LABI1 Nihon So-honten Ikebukuro and TECCLAND Kobe Tarumi store of Yamada Denki, etc.). It is scheduled to be sold at department stores and supermarkets in the future.

The tips of bristles are tapered and ultrafine, can easily reach and clean out the bacteria in the narrow gum pockets.

The toothpaste is a translucent gel type. It suppresses foaming to make the LED light pass through easily. It contains no abrasive and will not damage teeth.
